What We Do

From Start to Finish!

FROM CONCEPT to finished castings Wear-Tek offers the help you need to make your project successful. While most customers approach us with finished drawings some only have an idea. We can help bring that idea to life with the use of 3D Modeling software. Those 3D models can then be used with our Casting Solidification Software that will help us to offer the most efficient pattern layout possible.

WEAR-TEK POURS some 25 different alloys. While many of these are similar they each have their own set of characteristics and properties.

  • ASTM A532, High Chrome White Iron
  • ASTM A297, Heat Resistant Stainless
  • ASTM A128, 12% Manganese Steel
  • ASTM A27, Mild Steel
  • ASTM A148, Low Alloy Steel
  • Proprietary Grade 500 HBW Tool Steel

CNC Pattern Shop

OUR WELL-EQUIPPED CNC Pattern Shop produces high quality patterns needed for the demanding application of a sand foundry. Here those 3D models are turned into usable tools that are key to producing quality castings. In our facility we are able to produce aluminum match plates, board and frame style patterns, as well as core boxes machined from gray iron.

Core Making

CORES ARE A VITAL component in making castings. They are used to create complex features in castings as well as simple features such as bolt holes. We produce shell, no-bake, and Co2 cores that are used throughout the casting we pour.

Heat Treatment

HEAT TREATING castings is an integral part of the process. We are able to provide Normalizing, Stress Relieving, Annealing, Forced Air Quenching, Tempering and work with outside facilities for Liquid Quenching.

Shipping

SHIPPING MORE THAN 8 MILLION POUNDS of heavy/bulky castings every year is no easy task. We work with many different trucking companies so that we can offer the very best service so that orders arrive safely and on time.

Metallurgy & Quality Assurance

OUR METALLURGIST and quality assurance teams ensure that every alloy we pour meets the highest standards. Before any mold is filled, the metal is analyzed with a spectrometer to verify it falls within the required tolerances. Throughout heat‑treating, programs are closely monitored to confirm that the final castings achieve the properties specified by our customers.

Machine Shop & Surface Grinding

WEAR-TEK OFFERS both machining and surface grinding. Our inhouse machining coupled with our trusted partners in the Spokane area allows us to supply fully machined castings.

After the Sale

A DEEP UNDERSTANDING of our customer base empowers Wear‑Tek to deliver dependable, long‑term support that extends far beyond the initial purchase. For us, shipping a casting isn’t the finish line — it’s the start of a lasting partnership.
